How does it work?
The Intelligent Repeater (IR) is mounted on the rear of the trailer (close to the ABS System). A cabled antenna kit is screwed to the threaded antenna lead and the antenna is installed under the trailer toward the back wheels. A Molex T-Breakout cord is connected between the male/shroud of the Weather Pack of the standard ABS harness (no splicing necessary). The Intelligent Repeater through the ABS wiring communicates with the PressurePro monitor in the tractor. The Monitor (with some additional electronics) communicates with the trailer Intelligent Repeater. Sensors are programmed to the Intelligent Repeater and when the tractor/trailer are hooked, the Monitor in the tractor picks up the ID’s, the pressures and the wheel positions of sensors on the trailer from the Intelligent Repeater. When the trailer is unhooked and there is no communication for 15 seconds, the Monitor in the tractor it forgets that trailer and is open to look for another trailer. When a trailer with the Intelligent Repeater is introduced at hook-up, the Monitor recognizes the Intelligent Repeater and its info and the tractor/trailer combo is ready to go. Wal-laaa almost instant checking of the tire pressures from that time and enroute, standing or moving.
